9/13 Goose hunting has started out great, with a lot of birds and some not so great
shooting. Last weekend Sept 6, was opener of MN's early goose season. The birds
work really well. With good scouting and bad calling, other than the occasional flock
that tried to land behind us, we managed to give a few big honkers a ride back to
Rose creek (and no it wasn't in the back of my moms mini van.) We also managed to
kill one banded bird which is always a plus.
Friday 9/12. I have never been so frustrated and just plain ticked of on a hunt. We had
about 75 birds bombing into a hay field on Thursday night. So the plan for Friday
night was for everyone to meet at the field after work. Myself and Jimmy Krulish got off
a little early and got every thing set up. But as luck would have it with the overcast
weather the birds flew early. The rest of the crew had just got there and we weren't
quite ready. We had everyone scrambling, honkers hangin' over the decoys, and the
camera in a bag 20 ft away. I never thought I would be so mad to have 20 plus
honkers land 15 yards away. We did not manage to get any on film until a 4 pack
came in feet down a while later and only two managed to leave. I guess that's why
they call it hunting and not killing. Good luck to all the Mn stick and string cowboys
that headed to woods this week end dreaming of Pope & Youngs.

9/1 Opening day of dove season. We headed out about 7 am. Myself (Scott
Landherr),Steve Landherr, Jimmy Krulish and Mike Peck. It was a humid 75 degrees.
We set up on a cut wheat field. There were a ton of doves and a lot of holes shot in
the sky. What a blast to sit there and pop at the little buggers, we got 18 of them . We
figure we shot about 125 times between us. Not to shabby. Thats gonna be some
mighty good eaten....
Friday 9/19. I LaStache have kidnapped Scott's blog. When I goose hunt I have a
tradition of putting on the lastache for good luck. We had a good time today. Scott,
Amanda, Mary and myself went out for the afternoon. We got setup in the afternoon
heat and after a lot of laughs and joking around the geese were coming in and it was
time for business. First group came in and circled close but not close enough.
About ten minutes later it heated up. We ended up killing three and shot a lot.....a lot.

Sunday 9/14 (written by Amanda) Sunday morning came bright and early, for me to
go to WORK!! Yes, I was hard at work that morning when the boys were all out
hunting the mighty goose. They had some pretty good luck that morning and quite a
bit of fun from the look of it.
Saturday 9/20 LaStache here again. Scott, Amanda and I went out this morning and
had some good luck. I shot my first banded bird. If Scott would have called better I
would have shot three more banded birds. Scott promised he would practice some
more so the next time I come to hunt we will have better luck. Not a bad day. 4
birds--2 bands.

Monday 10/6 With goose season opening back up on the 4th we managed to get
back after them on Sunday morning. We had a pile of birds coming into a bean
stubble field. Scott, Mike and Nathan stayed up till one in the morning digging blinds
in to make sure we were hidden in the short stubble. It worked great we had honkers
right in our faces. Managed to make a few into movie stars before we had to abort the
mission due too heavy rain.
For the most part, most of the people I have talked to say bow hunting has been
slow. Some have had a few close calls with good bucks. But know one has sealed
the deal yet. GOOD LUCK TOO EVERYONE.
Oh, and Sunday afternoon with the help of my future brother in law Mike Peck I
managed to shoot a blue goose. In these parts they seem to be quite rare. You just
never know what might be next....
Wed 10/8 Time to get the bird dog [ Remington] all wound up and ready. I guess
he is always wound up. Opening day for chasing roosters in MN Oct 10.
11/17 With lots going on the last month I have been a slacker on blog duties. We
have been doing everything from chasing honkers and ducks to roosters and big
bucks. The migration has been full bore. Tons of geese coming through the area.
But with most people trying to get a big buck we haven't been getting after the
geese much. We did manage to get a 6 man limit one evening. I wish we could
have kept shooting. Some of the crew members have shot some great bucks. Me,
have kept shooting. Some of the crew members have shot some great bucks. Me,
I have just been running the camera. Yes there are couple pheasants in Mn with
the action starting to get better with the crop harvest continuing to move along. And
we have big news, myself and my girlfriend Amanda Albers got engaged on Oct
25, out in a goose field of course, Thats the way I roll....

11/17 For those of you that know me with my suave demeanor and dashing good
looks you would expect nothing else out of me but a true romantic wedding
proposal. You know dimmed lights, candles and rose petals. You know mushy stuff
like that. Yeah right. For those that really know me, you know I roll a little side ways.
So for me to come up with such an ingenious wedding proposal was a bit shocking.
Even for me. I bought the ring, an emerald flanked by two diamonds. Just like she
hinted she wanted.'' Yes I was actually listening'' I also took a goose leg band and
tuned it inside out and had the nice lady at the jewelry store engrave Will YOU
MARRY ME? LOVE SCOTT. I think she thought I was a little weird. But then I told her
my plan and she even thought it was kind of romantic in a back woods misfit kind of
way. So we headed out on cold windy Saturday morning to do a little goose hunting.
As for the rest of the story. Well you will just have to wait a bit to see how my plan
turned out as it was all captured on film. 'Video soon too come'. Oh and she did say
yes. We are planning a NOV 14 2009 wedding. Amanda's so happy she's putty in my
hands. '' ouch she just punched me''..........
12/09 Not much going on. Time to start thinking ice fishing. We have about ten
inches of snow on the ground. Goose hunting been slow we will get out a couple
more times. Been shooting a few roosters here and there not many around this year.
In mid November buddy Jimmy Krulish and cousin mike Nelson killed two great MN
bucks. Congrats guys. Well Happy holidays and keep plugging away.....
We have been finding a few. Check out the new shed page for more pics.
